When it comes time to purchase window treatments for your entire house, there are some things you might want to consider. Each room is going to require specific treatments based on your needs. For example, in your bedroom you might be looking into blackout curtains to ensure proper sleep but that’s not a great fit for your kitchen, were you need better lighting for cooking and such.
Let talk about what works for the bedroom windows, since we kind of touched on it already. Blackout cellular shades are a great fit, choosing those with the bottom-up/top-down feature will give you the added privacy you desire during the day but make sure the room is dark when you are trying to sleep. Also, consider adding some thick curtains to help soften any noise from outside, especially if your bedroom is next to the road or neighbors.
Moving right along to the dining room, this area is a common focal point in a home, so you may tend to lead by style and décor. Consider adding Roman shades, wood blinds or even take it to the next level by adding shutters. They really bring elegance to this space and will add the perfect amount of class to any style.
Next let’s talk about the living room, we spend a lot of time in this space, gathering with family and making special memories. This area should scream comfort and relaxation. So, much like your bedroom, you are going to want some darkness for functional movie night, so blackout curtains for the win, but also proper lighting when you just want to read your favorite book. For this you can add in privacy blinds, enjoy the extra light but feel safe and secure as well.
Lastly, we can’t forget my favorite place in the house, the kitchen. Lighting in this space is really important when it comes time to cook, but also to much light might create glare. So, to solve this problem consider adding sheer shades, they help absorb harmful UV rays, but their soft material will insure you have enough light to still throw down in the kitchen come mealtime. Another great option for the kitchen is shutters, especially if your kitchen and dining room are attached.
