Decorating Your Windows For Christmas

If you haven’t finished decorating your home for Christmas yet, don’t worry you still have plenty of time. Most people leave their decorations up well into January and it adds a special touch when welcoming in the new year.

For many, when it comes to dressing up their house for the holiday season, they tend to mostly focus on decorating the Christmas tree. Sometimes they forget that there are other areas in their homes, such as their windows, that can be decorated to show a little extra holiday spirit.

Here are some decorating tips for your windows, to take your holiday décor to the next level.

To start, try adding some battery-operated candles to your window seals. They are very inexpensive and add a beautiful but subtle glow to your home. They are also safe to leave unattended and won’t take away from your other décor.

Another popular idea for window décor is displaying a wreath. There are a ton of varieties when it comes to Christmas wreaths, they can be covered with colorful ornaments and lights for a festive look, or soft and simple so they can be left up and enjoyed long after the holiday season is over.

This next idea is one of my favorites I think, glue gun snowflakes. They are simple, affordable and stick nicely to your window after they are dried. You can even use colorful glue or glitter glue for your snowflakes, to make them stand out even more!

If you have kids, this next one is going to be a family favorite. Glass-stained window ornaments are a great way to spark creativity in your little one’s and allow them to display their Christmas creations. I have seen these made with tissue paper and paper Mache costing you next to nothing.

Last but not least, you have to try this DIY Christmas ball garland. Simply take your favorite ornaments and heavy twine. Run the twine threw the top of the ornaments where you would normally hang the hook. These make the most beautiful garland and can be customized to show your personality. Now I get that not everyone is a DIY kind of person, so I did some research and you can find a ton of variations instore and online, if that works better for you.
