With Christmas just around the corner, you might be expecting some extra company. You want your guests to be as comfortable as possible and feel like they are at home, so I have created a go to check list of tips and tricks to help make them feel as comfy as possible and enjoy their stay.
If your guests are planning to stay for a while, having a place to put their stuff is important. Make sure to clear out a dresser drawer and put some extra hangers in the closet, so they don’t have to live out of their suite case. Remember to provide an iron and ironing board in case they need to freshen up an outfit. This allows them to get fully dressed for the day without having to roam around the house in their pj’s looking for things.
An amenity basket for your guests is also a nice touch. This should include fresh towels, extra toothbrushes with toothpaste, little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Maybe even adding some sort of over-the-counter medicine just in case they get a headache. These things may seem small, but it will allow your guests to not have to worry about asking you for things they might have forgotten to pack.
Consider making the nightstand feel homier with a small lamp, in case your guests want to enjoy some evening reading. Add some books or magazines for some light reading. Don’t forget to provide an alarm clock, phone charger, box of tissues, and even a bottle of water. This way once they are all snuggled up, they won’t have to leave their cozy bed unless they want to.
Speaking of cozy beds, you can really make your guests feel like they are at home, by adding fresh clean white cotton linins and topping it with a crinkly duvet cover. The crinkly appearance makes it easy to pull the covers up in the morning and your guest will not have to hassle with making their bed every morning.
To ensure your company has the best night’s sleep, make sure to have blackout shades installed if you don’t already have them. This will allow them to sleep in complete darkness assuring they get all the rest they need.
Finally, find a small space to place a fan and a tv, if you have the room. A lot of people need a little white noise or fan to fall asleep, having those things accessible will allow them to make that choice.
Now that you have prepared your guest room for the holidays, you can sit back and enjoy this time with your loved ones. Until next time!
